Warranty repair

Do your products come with a warranty?

Hilleberg tents and canopies provide a warranty against defects in materials and manufacturing processes. Any faults or defects in materials or manufacturing processes are covered by the product warranty, and repairs and new product replacements are provided.

If the damage is caused by improper use, accident, or normal wear and tear, including exposure to ultraviolet rays in the sun and sand and dust, the damage caused by the above reasons is not covered by the product warranty.

How do you repair your products?

If the product needs repair, please return the product to the original place of purchase.

If the product is damaged due to improper use, accident, or normal wear and tear, we will only charge the cost of the product. For hygiene reasons and to protect our maintenance equipment, tents must be clean and dry before being sent in for repair. We reserve the right to return dirty tents without any repairs.

Q: Does your tent have a rain cover?

Yes. We call the rain cover a flysheet. In the tent photos you see on the website, the green, red or sandy brown part is the flysheet.
We believe that the most important feature that can identify a true four-season tent is that the outer tent can extend to the ground and cover the entire tent, so that it can effectively prevent wind, rain and snow.
The inner and outer tents of the Hilleberg tent are interconnected and can be set up at the same time, which not only saves time in setting up the tent, but also prevents rainwater from dripping into the inner tent. When you need a larger shelter, the outer tent can be set up independently, and the inner tent can also be set up independently in a warm and dry environment to keep insects out.

Q: Is your tent a double-layer tent?

Yes. All tents include a breathable and water-repellent inner tent and a waterproof outer tent. This design can reduce the phenomenon of moisture resistance and increase the isolation effect. Since the inner and outer tents can be set up at the same time, it not only allows you to set up the tent faster but also more completely. When you put the tent From taking it out of the bag to setting up the tent, the inner tent can be protected and prevented from getting wet from the rain.
From a safety perspective, the advantage of a double-walled tent is that if one layer of the tent is damaged due to weather factors, you will still be protected by the tent. The inner tent of the double-layer tent is equipped with elastic ropes and adjustable buckles to provide more flexibility, so the inner and outer tents can be used separately.


Q: What color should I choose?

A: If customers want the tent to be more conspicuous, they usually choose red. Otherwise, they choose green or sandy brown. You can choose any color according to your preference. Since our inner tent is fixed in yellow, whether you choose red, green or sandy brown, it will not affect your mood in the tent. In addition, the color of the tent will not affect the temperature inside the tent or the amount of light transmission.

Q: Can my luggage be placed in the tent vestibule?

Hilleberg's tents have larger vestibules than those on the market, and are designed to accommodate a specific number of users and equipment. The GT model has an extended vestibule, and the Keron 4 GT’s vestibule is even large enough to park two bicycles.
When you want to use a tent on a long journey in winter or when you need additional equipment, we usually recommend choosing a larger tent or a GT model, so that you can have more space and comfort.

Q: What are the differences between Nallo and Nammatj tents?

A: Both Nallo and Nammatj tents are high-quality four-season tents. Nammatj is more suitable for extreme climates, while Nallo focuses on lightweight.
The Nallo tent is made of lightweight Kerlon fabric, and the ground fabric is also made of lightweight material. The quality of these two fabrics is better than ordinary fabrics. They are also the lightweight fabrics used by Nammatj. Quantitative version. The Nallo entrance incorporates large ventilation windows to provide diverse ventilation options.
There is also a vent design at the end of the inner tent. You can choose to open it with a zipper or fold up the end of the outer tent to create more space for air convection.

Q: Why don’t you add more mesh to the tent?

Since our Black Label and Red Label tents can be used year-round, in severe climates the tents need to be able to be fully sealed. When adding gauze, you also need to increase the number of zippers and inner tents to cover the gauze. In addition to this, snow or rain may fall on the screen and melt from it.
Increasing the number of necessary zippers will also increase the weight of the tent. How to maintain a balance between tent features and weight and decide which one should be prioritized is a dilemma.

    Q: One of the camp pillars is bent. Is this normal?

    Some of our tent models come with pre-curved tent poles. These slightly bent tent poles are designed to reduce the pressure on the tent poles.

    Q: Why are my outer tent and inner tent stuck together?

    In new Hilleberg tents, the inner and outer tents may stick together due to static electricity. However, this does not affect the use of the tent. The static electricity will disappear immediately after you use the tent for the first time. Alternatively, you can wipe the outside of the inner tent with a damp rag to eliminate static electricity.


    Q: Do new tents need to use seam glue?

    The sewing technology we use makes the seams strong and durable, so you don’t need to use additional seam glue. When we sew, we use a flat knitting method to pass the needles so that each needle can accurately pass through the four layers of fabric. And use cold needle treatment to avoid pinhole expansion due to thermal friction.
    This unique method makes the stitching not only precise but also strong, allowing the fabric to retain significant durability and water pressure resistance.

    Q: I don’t want the tent to have moisture resistance.

    Under special circumstances, such as high humidity or insufficient ventilation inside the tent, reverse moisture may occur in the tent. In a tent, moisture comes from our breath, ground moisture or damp clothing.
    The design of our double-layer tent is to minimize the phenomenon of moisture reversion. The breathable inner tent can discharge water droplets in the air, such as our breath or ground moisture. At the same time, the inner tent can also prevent larger water droplets from entering the tent. Inside, the moisture generated by the reverse tide will condense on the inside of the outer tent. In a smaller tent, you may feel that the back-tide phenomenon is more serious, but that is only because it is closer to you.
    We do our best to choose the best fabric materials and design the best locations for the vents, all to minimize moisture reflux.

    Q: How should I clean my tent if it is dirty?

    After your trip, you can spread the tent out and wipe it clean with a sponge dipped in warm water. We do not recommend using any cleaning products.
    Next, be sure to take a small brush and clean the zipper carefully to avoid any sand or grit residue. Any sand left on the zipper can easily wear the zipper puller and prevent it from functioning properly. In addition, please make sure that the camp posts and camp pegs are clean and without any damage.
    If the tent is very dirty and dusty, we usually put the tent into a bathtub filled with water, let the tent soak in the water for about an hour, and stir the tent around the bathtub regularly. This method can usually effectively deal with the dirt and dust. .
    No matter which cleaning method you use, make sure the tent is completely dry before packing it up. The ideal way is to use tent poles to support the tent and hang it up. If the space is not large enough, just make sure the hanging length is long enough for the tent to dry. Can.

    Q: Why are your tents so expensive?

    Hilleberg tents are made of the highest quality materials, so the price is higher than other tent brands.     Q: Questions about accessories

    Do I need to buy any additional accessories besides the tent?
    All tents come with complete camp poles, standard camp pegs, camp ropes and adjustment pieces and other necessary equipment. In addition, they also come with a miscellaneous bag, camp pole bag, camp peg bag, spare camp pole repair kit and user manual.
    Depending on your usage needs, you may need to purchase additional floor nails. These products can be purchased in the parts section of the accessories category on our official website.
    Some customers will choose to purchase additional ground cloth. The ground cloth of the black label and red label tents can completely cover the outer tent and vestibule. The ground cloth of the yellow label tent can only cover the inner tent area. However, Enan is an exception. The scope can cover the external account part.
    If you want to set up the inner tent separately, you need to purchase additional camp pole covers. Each camp pole requires two camp pole covers. For example, Akto requires two and Nammatj requires four. Please refer to your tent instruction manual for the required number of pole covers.

    Q: Do I need floor covering? Can the ground sheet cover the tent vestibule?

    Ground cloth can increase the life of the tent's base layer and prevent damage, but it is not necessary for the functionality of the tent. Ground cloth is made of waterproof and puncture-resistant fabric, so some people like to use ground cloth to keep mud out of the tent or to cover the vestibule floor.
    The ground cloth can help isolate moisture from the ground, so that the inside of the fly tent will not get wet.
    For black label and red label tents, we sell floor coverings that can completely cover the vestibule, while the floor fabrics of yellow label tents cannot cover the vestibule.
    Use the adjusting buckle to clamp the ground cloth to the ring connecting the inner and outer tents, and the ground cloth can completely cover the tent. At the end of the trip, please make sure that the tent and ground cloth are completely dry before collecting the bill.
