HILLEBERG AMBASSADOR: Mark Seacat, an outdoor adventurer who blends life and passion

Mark Seacat was born and raised in Montana, USA. He has been hunting, fishing and exploring the mountains and forests with his parents since he was a child. His love for the mountains and woods developed further as he went on elk tracking trips, eventually leading him to mountain climbing, where he discovered a deep passion. "I met Alex Lowe in college and he made a huge impression on me," Mark said. Since then he has participated in climbing expeditions around the world, interspersed with equally adventurous hunting and fishing trips.

“I’ve been very lucky to be able to turn my hobby and passion into a career, which has taken me to some amazing places. I spent six months chasing giant brown trout in New Zealand, and I spent six months chasing giant brown trout in Alaska. Spending a month climbing in two connected Atlas tents on Denali was the ultimate in luxury - the Atlas system is awesome! Having a solid base camp can't be underestimated. When you’re living in a tent with five people for a month, you need enough space for gear, food, and a place for everyone to move around. The Atlas provided the ideal launch pad we needed to complete our target route!”

As the founder of Seacat Creative, Mark applies his skills as a professional photographer and videographer to documenting outdoor activities, particularly hunting and fishing, for a variety of clients. He spends a good portion of each year in the wild, whether hunting, fishing or climbing, taking photos and videos, and relies on his Hilleberg tent.

“I absolutely love using the Soulo, it’s hard to beat the sturdiness and self-standing design of this tent. It’s pretty much my first choice,” says Mark. "My favorite end-of-season hunt in Montana is the Saitaris. The tent is very sturdy and can withstand any inclement weather, and we often get heavy snow accumulations. This is my favorite trip of the year! And for early-season travel when there’s no snow, the Niak is perfect for two if you want to travel light.”
