In 2008, he skied through the Tordrillo Mountains, skiing 161 kilometers (100 miles) with two friends, climbing a total of 11,582 meters (38,000 feet), and skiing down four of the highest peaks, all Over 3352 meters (11,000 feet).
As an internationally certified mountain guide, Joe regularly leads clients on adventures, whether in Europe, South America, or in his home "playground" of Alaska. His tent of choice is the Hilleberg Atlas .
What he said about the Atlas tent
“Once, I watched a Japanese team of six build a giant dome tent in the middle of a raging snowstorm in Denali. They climbed into the tent, laughed, ate, and slept. The vents were steaming through the blizzard for three days while we shivered in the one-person tent next to me. I decided right then and there that I was going to find the best team dome tent, and the Hilleberg Atlas became mine. Solution.
Joe continued, “The Atlas has become my go-to gear for remote adventures in Alaska. Whether it’s skiing, mountaineering, or a New Year’s party, the Atlas is my home. This tent is so sturdy that I’m confident it will stand up in a blizzard; It is spacious and can accommodate six people to store equipment and rest; it is also very warm, and with the optional inner tent, the double-layer wall can effectively insulate the whole team in a comfortable space to socialize, which can significantly improve morale. .The Atlas is the most impressive piece of outdoor gear I own.”
