HILLEBERG AMBASSADOR: Sarah & Eric McNair-Landry, the new generation legend of polar exploration
Sarah and Eric McNair-Landry are destined to be at the forefront of polar exploration. Their parents are Matty McNair and Paul Landry, two of the world's most famous and experienced polar explorers. In 2004, 20-year-old Eric and 18-year-old Sarah skied to the South Pole for the first time. Soon after, they completed a two-way crossing of the Greenland ice sheet and broke the speed record.
Since then they have broken records, won awards and spent countless days and nights in the Arctic and in remote locations around the world. As a younger generation, they have become some of the most experienced explorers of our time. In 2007, they founded Pittarak Expeditions , hoping to inspire young people to actively participate in outdoor activities and embrace nature through adventure.
Report of their expedition
We recently received an expedition report from them documenting another successful adventure:
"On March 19, we pitched our tent outside the community of Tuktoyaktuk. Once again, Eric and I chose to give up the luxuries of daily life and move back into our red Hilleberg tent to spend the winter. This journey will take my brother and me along history The historic Northwest Passage, complete an 85-day adventure with kite skiing and skiing.
Our home of choice was the three-person tent Keron GT , which was roomy enough to keep us comfortable but warm enough to heat up quickly. The extended vestibule became our 'garage', used to repair sleds and later to protect the equipment during the June rainy season.
The most important feature of an adventure tent is the combination of strength and lightness, it must protect us in big storms while being easy to set up in strong winds. Keron's arch design perfectly meets these needs. "
